Fathers Day Came Early
Thanks to my wonderful wife, I’ve got an early fathers day present, a shiny new Canon 40D. I’ve borrowed a little EF 50mm 1.8f II lens from my colleague, which is perfect for portrait shots. Check out the result.

Unsung Heroes
I’ve always been of the opinion that being at work all day is the hard part. Staying at home raising a child is the easiest thing in the world. How wrong was I. From the age of around 18 months children start testing your limits, which is stressing enough in itself, but combined with a need to follow you around, do everything you do, and generally give you no “me time” whilst they are awake, it turns out that spending the day alone with a toddler is probably the most stressful and tiring occupation imaginable. Certainly few occupations are as tiring, despite none being as rewarding. I know this after spending quite some time at home with a dodgy back recently. It’s no walk in the park, and I tip my hat off to all stay-at-home mothers and fathers, especially Z who’s dealing with Ali at a particularly testing, yet loveable phase.
