Dear Ali

Posted on 22. Jan, 2008 by zerolight in Family

You are now two and a half years old and what a journey it has been! We cannot imagine life without you and every day we love you more and more, even though we already love you so much. It seems so long ago that you were a tiny 5 pound 10 ounce baby – now you weigh almost 14 kg and measure 98 cm, almost a meter tall!

For almost two years you slept in our room. We let you climb over to our bed from your cot-bed as you preferred sleeping between us. As you grew bigger and started to demand more space we knew it was time for the move to your own room. After 6 months in your own room you are still not used to sleeping on your own. Some nights you wake 4 or 5 times and other nights once or twice. You?

Ducti Wallet Impressions

I’ve been through a great many wallets over the years, the last being a rather expensive Cartier wallet which, whilst serving me well for 6 or 7 years, grew tatty looking within just one year. This time I decided I’d settle for something far cheaper and ideally gadgety – so I googled “gadget wallet”. One of the first hits led me to Ducti.

Ducti make wallets out of Super Duct Tape. Yes you read right. They come with a lifetime guarantee, a no quibble replacement if they get tatty or ugly. I figured it was worth a pop – fits the gadget bill, it’s cheap, it looks funky, etc.

I opted for the Ducti Undercover Wallet, one of their hybrid models with a plain old silver Super Duck Tape exterior and a faux leather interior. It does indeed look cool, funky, and gadgety, and is really well made. It’s exceptionally light too. It’s got space for 10 cards, a flip out ID section, etc… the usual sort of stuff you find in a wallet. Whether it wears as well as the manufacturer claims remains to be seen. I like it though, which is what counts.
